NUST pioneers sustainable progress with groundbreaking projects in solar, wind, and bioenergy. Our clean energy initiatives light the way towards a renewable and resilient future
Farq Parhta Hai was founded by five undergraduate psychology students and began as a podcast series in 2023, amplifying voices on critical social issues like gender-based violence, youth participation, and environmental justice. The podcast became a platform for raising awareness and fostering dialogue, but its resonance with audiences revealed the potential to create a tangible impact beyond conversations. From this realization emerged the initiative, evolving into a youth-led movement committed to driving systemic change by focusing on three interconnected pillars: mental health, climate justice, and gender empowerment.
The initiative addresses the pressing intersections of these challenges through innovative campaigns, advocacy, and grassroots engagement. Highlights include mobilizing a network of over 300 volunteers, producing high-impact digital content, and organizing workshops and training programs. We have facilitated mental health advocacy, launched climate action campaigns, and amplified women’s voices in marginalized communities.
NUST actively promotes gender equality through significant representation and support for female students and staff. Initiatives include research projects focused on gender issues, policies to support female participation in STEM fields, and collaborations that enhance career opportunities for women. These efforts are crucial in creating an inclusive academic environment that supports equity and diversity.
Through partnerships with global universities and industries, NUST is at the forefront of clean energy and technological innovation. Projects in solar, wind, and bioenergy are part of the university’s strategy to promote sustainable energy solutions. NUST’s research and development in energy technologies aim to address Pakistan’s energy challenges and contribute to global sustainability.
