Syed Asghar Ali
Assistant Manager Sustainability
Asghar is an environmental professional with a Master’s in Environmental Engineering and a passion for tackling climate change, improving air quality, and driving sustainable development. At NUST, Asghar leads initiatives to monitor and assess greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1 to 3, explore innovative strategies to reduce the university’s carbon footprint, and align programs and operations with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a commitment to advancing sustainability, Asghar strives to create a greener, more resilient future for the university and beyond.
Zia Ur Rehman
Head Sustainability
Zia leads the NUST Office of Sustainability, driving innovative solutions and strategies to achieve global ESG standards. Implementing NUST Sustainability Strategy 2030 and the Living Lab concept, to transform NUST into a sustainable campus. With over five years of experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and fostering international sustainability partnerships, he has led impactful initiatives on gender, climate resilience, and eco-tourism. His expertise in SDG impact evaluation and scientific communication underscores his dedication to sustainable development.
Menahel Hamid
Assistant Manager Sustainability
Menahel oversees Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives at the NUST Office of Sustainability, focusing on fostering an inclusive academic environment. She has led transformative projects such as the National Disability Resource Center (NDRC). With expertise in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, Menahel is committed to bridging equity gaps and aligning NUST’s efforts with global ESG standards and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
